Entrad installs made-to-measure steel doorsets across the UK — security doors, louvred plant room doors and fire exits. Every installation starts with a free site survey from our Coventry base, and ends with a door that closes, locks and escapes exactly as the standards require. From a single replacement door to a full multi-site schedule, we survey, supply and fit.
Why Installation Quality Matters?
A steel security door is only as strong as its fixing. A heavy-gauge doorset hung in a poorly anchored frame gives an attacker the easy route around the steel — and an escape door that binds, drags or needs two motions to open fails the one test that matters.
Our fitters install the frame and leaf as one engineered system: anchored to the structure, square in the opening, with locking, closers and panic hardware set up and tested before handover.
Our Installation Process
Free site survey
We measure every structural opening, check reveals, thresholds and escape requirements, and flag anything that affects the fit — irregular openings, floor levels, access control.
Made-to-measure manufacture
Your doorsets are built in the UK to the surveyed sizes, CE marked to EN 14351-1, in your chosen RAL or BS 4800 finish.
Scheduling and risk assessment
Installation is planned around your site: method statements and risk assessments completed before work begins, and site induction attended where required.
Installation
Old doors removed, new doorsets fitted, locking and panic hardware installed and function-tested, door operation checked for smooth single-action escape.
Handover
Hardware demonstrated, packaging and old doorsets cleared, and the area left clean and ready for use.
Replacement & Retrofit
Replacing an existing door? Most of our installations are retrofits into existing openings — including irregular and out-of-square reveals in older buildings. The site survey captures the true opening, the doorset is made to suit it, and the old door is removed on the day. No standard-size compromises, no making-good left to your team.

Do you use your own fitters or subcontractors?
Installation is carried out by Entrad’s own experienced fitting teams, not subcontractors — so the same standards apply from survey to handover.
How long does installation take?
A single doorset is typically installed within a day, including removal of the old door and full hardware testing. Multi-door schedules are programmed around your site’s operating hours.
Can you install around a live site?
Yes — we regularly install in occupied schools, retail units and residential blocks, scheduling work to keep escape routes available and disruption minimal.
Do you install doors supplied by someone else?
We install the doorsets we supply — it’s how we guarantee the fit, the hardware set-up and the warranty.
